My kids are 11 and 6 and we are visiting Disney June 9-16. We havent purchased the dining plan, beacause my kids can literally split a kids meal most days. Neither of them eat a whole lot. Do you think we are making a wise deicsion to not pay for the plan?

    Hi Allison,

This is a hard question to answer as every family is different.

Whilst my family absolutely love the Disney Dining Plan, it certainly doesn't suit everyone and if your children really don't eat very much then maybe it isn't for you.

What I would suggest that you do is to take a look at some menus on the unofficial website www.allears.net and price up what you would typically spend at the Table-Service and/or Quick-Service dining locations each day.

If you then multiply this figure by the number of nights that you will be staying at your Disney Resort hotel, this will give you a good indication of how much your meals will cost.

You can then compare this cost against the additional cost which would be required to add the Disney Dining Plan to your vacation package ultimately giving you a pretty good idea of whether it will be beneficial to add the Disney Dining Plan or simply pay for your meals out of pocket.

Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
