Hello Katie!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You must be excited about your kids' first visit! I remember taking my daughter for the first time when she was 5 years old and all the memories that we made during that visit.
You have chosen an amazing Disney Resort hotel to stay with your kids. Magic Kingdom Park is usually where we spend more time with
little ones so being that close to the magic at Disney's Contemporary Resort will definitely help you come and go. The convenience of the monorail will also make visiting Epcot and other resort hotels so much easier.
Since you are arriving at the airport at 5:30 p.m. with small kids, I highly recommend making reservations for your first night at
Chef Mickey’s. Air travel can sometimes bring us a couple of surprises and navigating airports with small children, luggage, possibly strollers, can be a challenge. I am sure you do not want to rush things and maybe feel nervous about missing your Spirit of Aloha reservation, so I suggest booking this experience for another evening. Also, I don’t know about your kids, but my daughter loves to have an early dinner, and when you can do it at your own hotel right after check-in, it really makes life easier. The food at Chef Mickey’s will be readily available and, guess what, the Fab Five will be there to welcome them to their first Disney adventure! Don’t forget to get First Visit buttons at Front Desk upon arrival – I am sure Mickey will love to know that when they meet.
I hope this helps you while planning, Katie. Thank you for visiting us once again, and please continue to stop by if you have additional questions.
Best magical wishes,
Thiana
