My kids are in their teen years. This is a special trip to Disney because we are celebrating my twins graduation from college. Is there anything special I can do on the way up to get my kids in the “Disney spirit?”

For years I was in charge of getting the family excited about upcoming Disney family reunion trips.  As the kids grew up it did become more of a challenge but they always ended up being excited!

I will assume your family loves Disney or you wouldn't be traveling there for such a great celebration.  One of the many things I did was to make up a Disney trivia game a couple of months before the trip.  Every week I would send everyone some Disney questions for them to answer and return.  Some were very easy and then some were pretty complicated and they always had a time limit to return the answers.  I would keep track and score and the winner would be awarded once they arrived with Disney dollars or something else.  Of course everyone who played received awards for their efforts!

You can also let each person decide on a special thing to do while you are there...a tour, a recreation option, a dining location.  Or you can even put it out there for them to each plan one day of your visit.  This will get them to think and plan and feel like they are making it fun not only for themselves but for the rest of the family!!

Disney magic and spirit is contagious!  Just having it yourself will wear off on the rest of the family and I know you will all have a memorable celebratory trip!
