We Kids (16,14,13, & 2) are staying at GF. What are the best rooms? The website doesn't mention much about the various builidings? or lower room, dormer room, ground floor, upper floor? Thanks

    Hi Wendy,

In my opinion, every room at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is incredible! As you might expect, some rooms are priced a little higher than others based on amenities (i.e. club-level rooms), views (i.e. rooms facing the Magic Kingdom), or size (i.e. suites).

Depending on the type of room you've reserved, you may have the ability to ask the cast members upon checking-in if there are some options to choose from (e.g. rooms closer to the pool). It never hurts to ask!

As for dormer rooms, they're way cool. Each one has a vaulted ceiling that makes you feel like you're in a little cottage. Plus, each one has a private balcony. If dormer rooms are an option for you, definitely snag one!

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

One of the many highlights of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the fact that it's on the Monorail line. So, from the station in the main building, you can hop on the Monorail and be at the Magic Kingdom in just a couple of minutes.

However, some guests don't realize that there's also a boat that shuttles guests from the hotel to the Magic Kingdom as well. You can find the dock for this boat near Narcoossee's restaurant and the marina. When coming back from the Magic Kingdom, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the first stop and may very well be a quicker way back than if you take the Monorail.

(If you use the boat on your way to the Magic Kingdom, you'll have to swing by Disney's Polynesian Resort first because of the routes they run.)

I hope that helps and I hope you have an awesome vacation!!

    Best regards,
    Derek
