When will the kids splash pad at the lava pool at Polynesian Resort reopen?

    Aloha, Sharon! Welcome to planDisney!

It looks like you’ll be visiting Walt Disney World and the Polynesian Village Resort this summer. How exciting! Along with its beautiful decor, views of the Magic Kingdom, and easy access to DOLE Whip, the pools at this hotel make it one of my favorites at Walt Disney World Resort

I have great news! I talked with a friendly Cast Member and the told me that Kiki Tikis Splash Play located next to the Lava Pool recently re-opened to guests. Pool availability and hours are subject to change, but you and your kiddos should be able to play and cool off in this area during your summer Disney adventure. In addition to Kiki Tikis Splash Play, your little ones can also enjoy Moana’s Voyage Splash Zone at the newly opened Island Tower, which features a life-size sculpture of Moana and her canoe!

If you’re looking for more aquatic adventures this summer, be sure to take advantage of the water park perk available to Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests in 2025. Guests of select hotels get complimentary admission to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon water parks on their check-in day. I recently enjoyed a visit to Blizzard Beach, and it was the perfect way to de-stress after a day of travel. I highly recommend visiting either water park if your travel plans allow it.

Sharon, I hope this information was helpful and that you have an amazing time this summer. Don’t hesitate to send me your Polynesian-related questions or any other questions you may have. Your planDisney ‘ohana is here to help!

    Magical travels!
