Hi, I have 3 kids of 8,8 and 6. Can we use rider switch service to travel with one kid at a time? Our concern is that many attractions are 2-people ride and we can't leave one of the kids alone Thanks!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Andrea! Rider Switch Service saves the thrill riders in our family since my baby girl doesn’t quite measure up to ride my son’s favorites like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Splash Mountain.

Did you know that kids ages 8 and older can ride in a row alone? Children age 7 and under must have a guardian age 14 and older, so these rules may work in your favor! When it comes time to ride short thrills like Goofy’s Barnstormer (a perfect first coaster) that seats two, you may ride with the 6-year old while your spouse rides with an 8-year old and the third child may ride alone (or banish the other parent to a solo seat behind the two 8-year-olds). Your family can take three rows of a 2-seater ride, sandwiching your 8 year olds between parents (fore and aft) or swap out which one rides with a parent. Of course, if your family wishes to ride something like Rockin' Roller Coaster, which also seats two, but is much more of a thrill, you can use Rider Swap if a child is fearful of riding in a row solo.

You won’t have any problems on multi-seater rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, Small World or Kali River Rapids, but if you think of something else that would make your vacation easier, please let me know! You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
