Where do kids prefer to stay?

Hi Cheryl!  The beauty of staying at a Disney resort is that they are all full of the Disney magic you would expect to find!

Children of all ages love just about any resort there so I would consider looking at the ages of your children and their interests.  Budget of course also lends a part in your final decision.

If your children your quite young you will most likely spend a good deal of your time in the Magic Kingdom and would suggest one of the resorts close to this park.  The Polynesian is a favorite for many families with its relaxed atmosphere and great pool.  The Grand Floridian is a bit more formal and the Contemporary is often more adult occupied due to conventions and conferences.  The Wilderness Lodge is another super resort and although it isn't on the monorail it is close to the park and kids love the atmosphere there.

If your kids are into the pirates then the Caribbean Beach resort is a top spot. They even have pirate themed rooms.  The All Star and Pop Century resorts have huge icons depicting their theme throughout the resort and children love this.  The activities at the pool areas keep them busy when they are at the resort.

If your children are planning on spending a lot of time swimming then head over to the Yacht and Beach Club resorts for your stay.  Their pool called Stormalong Bay is considered the best on property.  The sandy bottom and slide and other special features make a day at the pool a dream.

The last suggestion for a quiet and completely different experience is the cabins at Fort Wilderness.  Here you will feel like you are away from everything typical to Disney and can find archery, canoes, bikes, and horseback at your beckon call.

Good luck with your final decision....it is never easy to pick from so many great choices!
