Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Katherine!
Thanks for stopping by with your question. I see that you'll be starting your Magical vacation in March, just in time for the debut of
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway at Disney's Hollywood Studios!
Katherine, my whole trip usually revolves around food and
dining at the Walt Disney World Resort, so I'm happy to help with your menu question! While I can't guarantee anything, in my experience, the Cast Members at all of the Table Service restaurants are very understanding and accommodating. This is not an uncommon conundrum as lots of kids in the tween age range have a similar palate and would prefer ordering from the kids' menu.
One thing to note is that if you are using the
Disney Dining Plan, since your kids are over age 10, they are considered adults. So, regardless of the entree ordered, an adult Table Service entitlement will be used. I do know that reverse is not allowed, meaning that kids age 9 and under are not able to use a kids' Table Service entitlement for an adult entree.
Another idea if you haven't yet selected all of your restaurants would be to choose a buffet. Two of our family favorites are
Tusker House Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom and
The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park. Both offer a wide-range of options and have great Character interactions as a bonus!
I hope this helps ease your mind as you're getting ready for your trip. However you dine and whatever restaurants you choose, I hope you have a vacation that's delicious down to the last bite.
Lauren
