Kids on attraction

2 Kids, one that can ride the rides. When using Fast Pass and Rider Switch, does mom, dad and riding child have to have FP or just one parent and riding child? If it is everyone, then what happens to FP that second parent has when they use the swap pass?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jared!

Rider Switch is going to be such a great tool for your family when you're on vacation at Walt Disney World Resort later this year. I think a family of four is the perfect size to take advantage of the service because there are going to be some great bonuses for your older child who is tall enough to ride all the attractions. It sounds like you're looking to save a little bit of extra time, so let's chat about what happens when you want to use Rider Switch in conjunction with FastPass+.

If you want to use both of these services together, meaning that one parent and your older child enter through the FastPass+ queue while the parent who stays behind obtains a Rider Switch return time to also skip the standby line when the first group is done riding, then everyone who will eventually ride the attraction is required to have a valid FastPass+. When you tap your MagicBand to receive your Rider Switch return time, your party's FastPass+ selections will be redeemed at that time to allow the first riding group to go through. You certainly don't need to have a FastPass+ to use Rider Switch, as the first riding group also has the option of waiting in the standby line. Now, here's where it gets really fun for your oldest child: since the Rider Switch entitlement is good for up to three guests, they're able to ride again with the other parent if they want to, no second FastPass+ required!

    Have a magical day, Jared!
