My kids do not have their own my Disney experience accounts. How do I manage their profiles from mine?

    Welcome to planDisney, Jamie!

Planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is a work of heart, much like the planning that goes into motherhood. This week I found myself planning a birthday party, planning a rescheduled birthday party, planning meals, planning doctor's appointments, and planning a carpool schedule for all of my kids' after-school activities. I now understand where the phrase, "I'm done adulting, I'm going to Disney World" comes from, haha!

There are many pieces to the Walt Disney World Resort vacation-planning puzzle. Currently, each Guest over the age of three requires valid admission, a theme park reservation for each park day, and a method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card). These items must be linked to an individual's My Disney Experience account or account profile. For children under the age of 13 and Guests that do not wish to have their own My Disney Experience accounts, you can create a My Disney Experience account profile managed under your account by selecting "Add a Guest" at the bottom of your Family and Friends List. Select "I'll enter their name and age." They will then appear on your Family and Friends List with the words, "Plans managed by me."

Let's go over what it looks like to manage your children's My Disney Experience account profiles on a Disney day, Jamie. Before arrival, you must link the children's admission to their My Disney Experience account profiles. Their names will appear as an option during the linking process because you are connected as Family and Friends. Once admission is linked, you must make them each a theme park reservation. In the My Disney Experience mobile app, you can then use Disney MagicMobile service to download a Disney MagicMobile pass for you and your children to your iPhone, Apple Watch, or Google Pay enabled Android phone.

Let's say you want to purchase Disney Genie+ service on your park day. You can do so for yourself and your children via the Tip Board of the My Disney Experience mobile app. I recommend purchasing by 6:45 a.m. so you can book your first Genie+ Lightning Lane at 7:00 a.m. sharp. Fast forward to park opening, you will tap your children's Disney MagicMobile passes at the theme park entrance. You will also tap your Disney MagicMobile passes at all Lightning Lane entrances. During your park day, you will continue using your My Disney Experience mobile app to make Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations for your family. All reservations are attached to individuals, but everyone's plans are housed in your account and connected to your Disney MagicMobile passes.

In a nutshell, Jamie, you manage your children's My Disney Experience accounts by viewing and making plans for them online and in the My Disney Experience mobile app.

I know this is a big, tech-heavy topic, Jamie. Take some time to sit with this information and let me know what follow-up questions arise

    Plan magic; planDisney.
