Hello, Alicia!
I'm happy to see you back at planDisney! I have kids very close in age to yours and I am loving how much fun they are at Disney Parks at this age! It's so exciting to see them getting to experience my favorite attractions, and they never fall asleep while we're waiting for nighttime spectaculars now. Well...almost never!
The
Disneyland Resort Rules require guests under 14 years old to be accompanied by a guest over 14 years old to enter the theme parks. When it comes to attractions, guests under 7 years old are required to have someone at least 14 years old with them. In your case, your kids are both old enough to ride attractions on their own. I'll also add that anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM in the Downtown Disney District.
My favorite benefit of older kids is taking advantage of
Single Rider queues! We enter the line and wait together, then usually end up riding separately. But we save a lot of time this way! We have my husband ride first, then each of our kids, then I go last. That way there's someone to meet our kids at the exit and they don't wait on their own in the queue. But I expect in the next couple of years they will be going off for a ride or two on their own while my husband and I kick back with a cool treat!
Alicia, it looks like you'll be visiting during
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort! If you think you might want to attend
Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party then I recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog this summer to see when tickets are available. They sell out frighteningly fast! I'm wishing you a ghoulishly delightful trip!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
