Ahoy there, matey! Crystal, I'm so happy you brought your question to our group of planDisney pirates! We love to help guests even more than Jack Sparrow loves the Black Pearl.
Crystal, with the weather turning frigid in my neck of the woods, a leisurely day on Grand Cayman sounds like a dream and I'm so happy to chat with you about a
Caribbean itinerary. Now, in order to enjoy your
Disney Cruise Line vacation (and any stops in port), having the
proper documentation is a must, so let's dive into your question.
At this time, children who are US citizens may use the Original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate in place of a passport when
traveling to Grand Cayman on a closed-loop cruise originating in the US (and returning to a US port). Please note that if your children are 15 years or older they will also need a physical Government-issued photo ID.
Crystal, there are a few important notes to remember regarding documentation. While this information is correct now, should you sail again in a few years, please remember to check for any updates to the passport policies. You can view all of the current passport and travel documentation requirements on the Disney Cruise Line website by hovering over the words, "Already Booked" and then scrolling down to click on, "Travel Documentation" located under the heading, "Before You Go." This is a great resource to bookmark for future plans.
I hope this helps as you are anxiously awaiting your vacation. No matter if you are planning to sail on Disney's first cruise ship, the
Disney Magic, or any other vessel, I know you'll have a pixie-dusted time. Please come on back with any additional questions. Here at planDisney we love to see a returning guest.
