Hey There, David!
I'm so glad you've found your way to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by with your question! Can you believe you'll be arriving at Walt Disney World Resort in just a few days? After all that planning, the wait is almost over!
Over the years,
MagicBands have become VERY special to my kids –– for them, our Walt Disney World vacation hasn't truly begun until they've snapped on those colorful bands. They love choosing a band with their current favorite characters before we arrive (which seems to change every 15 minutes) and they know when that special package comes in the mail that our vacation is finally getting close. And once we arrive at Walt Disney World? They really enjoy the independence of tapping their band to enter the parks and Lightning Lanes, while I love not having to keep track of everyone's ticket or flip through my phone to scan a ton of passes while we're holding up the line. So, do your kids
need a MagicBand? No (in fact, I typically even skip the MagicBand for myself and use the Disney MagicMobile Pass feature on my phone during our visits). That said, I can tell you that in my experience, my kids really enjoy using MagicBands and for us, they're a worthwhile addition to our vacation.
Now, when it comes to interacting with new games and features in the park, the
all-new MagicBand+ wearables have taken the fun to a new level. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, your kids will be able to channel their inner Mandalorian and
hunt for virtual bounties throughout Black Spire Outpost, interact with golden statues of your favorite characters as part of the
Fab 50 Character Collection in all four theme parks, and watch Nighttime Spectaculars come alive in a whole new way during your visit. While my family hasn't gotten to try these new features for ourselves yet, my tiny people are
very excited to try them out during our next visit. If these sound like activities your kids might enjoy, I definitely recommend purchasing these new MagicBand+ wearables once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort.
Before your visit, there's one more thing I suggest –– open up your
My Disney Experience mobile app and take a look at the "Future Plans" section. Once you're there, be sure that all the members of your traveling party have
Disney Park Pass reservations for each day that you plan to visit a Walt Disney World theme park. Remember, you'll need valid park admission
and a theme park reservation in order to enter a park. Since park reservations have been filling up in recent months, I would hate for you to arrive at your park of choice, only to find that reservations are full (talk about an UN-magical start to your day, right?). Once you've done that, you should be ready to hit the ground running when you arrive at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, David. I'm wishing you and your family lots of pixie dust during your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
