When we were kids, Mom always got us Key Lime Pie inside Magic Kingdom. Is there still anywhere in MK serving Key Lime Pie? My sister is heading to WDWR for the first time in 20 years and is hoping to carry on the tradition with her kids and grandkids.

    Hello, Amanda,

Thank you for sending your question to planDisney. I think this is such a precious memory you and your sister have of visiting the Magic Kingdom.  Your mom created some magical pixie dust in making those experiences for you both, and it is even more wonderful that you are both trying to pass along that tradition to the next generations.

I checked the menus at the Magic Kingdom, but I was unable to find any Key Lime Pie. However, I do have an idea that may work to carry on your mom's tradition.  The Grand Floridian Cafe is a restaurant at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and it has a Café Key Lime Tart on both the lunch and dinner menu. The resort is right across from the Magic Kingdom with easy access by monorail, water taxi, or even walking. You could enjoy lunch or dinner at the restaurant (I suggest making reservations beforehand), and then get the Café Key Lime Tart to go to bring with you to the Magic Kingdom to carry on the tradition your mom started.  If it looks like it might be hot, you can store the dessert in a cooler (it cannot be bigger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high) with ice packs (no loose ice or dry ice allowed).

To help make the memory even more special, Walt Disney World offers a Capture Your Moment. It is a 20 minutes photo session to capture the special moment for your family. It is highly recommended that you make advance online reservations

Wishing your sister and her family a magical trip! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
