Hi there, Rachael!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
It sounds like you're planning a picture-perfect day at
Disney's Hollywood Studios, where you can step back into the Golden Age of Hollywood and the magic of movies comes to life.
One of my favorite dining locations in Hollywood Studios is
The Hollywood Brown Derby, a themed replica of the original Brown Derby in Hollywood, California. From the "Old Hollywood" look of the restaurant to the famous caricature art on the walls, it's a unique dining experience that my family always enjoys. Fun Fact: In the cartoon "Mickey and the Beanstalk", Willie the Giant is shown stomping through Hollywood looking for Mickey Mouse. Willie sees the original Brown Derby restaurant (which was shaped like an actual hat), and picks it up, looking inside for Mickey. He then places the building on his head and wears it like a hat, with the Brown Derby marquee blinking on top!
No worries, Willie the Giant won't be picking up the restaurant when you dine there. And you should also have no worries about sharing a meal when you visit. I ate there last week with my daughters, and I shared two small plates (a Charcuterie Board and a side of Lobster Thermidor Macaroni & Cheese) with one of my girls. They understand if you would like to split your meal, especially with a dish like the Famous Cobb Salad. The salad is definitely large enough to share, and you can always add chicken, shrimp, or lobster to it to make it more filling. The salad is just as pretty to look at as it is delicious to eat! Your server will bring it to the table and offer to mix it for you, or you can choose to use the large spoons provided to mix it up yourself.
There are lots of delicious drinks to choose from to accompany your Famous Cobb Salad, including several that come with glowing "ice" cubes. A good friend once told me, "Kids grow up fast...always buy the glow cubes." Even now that they're practically grown and flown, I'll always splurge on a fun drink with a glow cube for my kids (and, who am I kidding...myself!).
I hope you enjoy your visit to Disney's Hollywood Studios - see you at the movies!
