Lightning Lane passes?
Walt Disney World Resort vacations truly grow and change with you, don't they?
I recently converted my teens' accounts to ones they manage themselves. They just wanted to be able to see our dining and Lightning Lane plans, so I know the feeling. It is a simple process:
- Open the main menu (the "≡" at the bottom of the screen) on the My Disney Experience app
- Scroll to "Account" and select "Profile"
- Pick the "Family & Friends List" tab
- Click on your child's profile
- Select "Send email" and enter their email address
They will receive an email to accept, and then their account, including any assigned tickets and MagicBand+ or cards, will be automatically theirs to manage. Since they are over 18, they can add a credit card and make purchases on the app.
The only downside I have found is that I can no longer change their profile characters. We had an ongoing game of changing my son's character to match his mood. He changed his photo within minutes of managing his own account.
If you have not yet assigned theme park tickets to them, you can also do this easily on the app.
- Open the main menu on the app (the "≡")
- Select "My Tickets & Passes"
- Scroll to the ticket
- Click on "Reassign Ticket" and select your family member
