Hey Howdy Hey Frank and welcome back to planDisney!
As a father of three, my youngest is three, I can appreciate your questions. A lot has changed recently with Disney dining and depending on where you get your information from, you may hear conflicting stories because of how things have been changing and might continue to change over the coming months. So let's break down what we can with your questions to get some answers for you.
So first off, you are correct that kids under three years of age are free when it comes to dining. This is true across all Walt Disney World resort restaurants and the servers will just assume they will be eating a bit off your plate unless you specifically order something for them.
Concerning the specific restaurants, this can get a little tricky. Both
Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood Studios and
Tusker House Restaurant in Animal Kingdom are both character dining experiences with family-style meals throughout the day with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Topolino's Terrace at Disney's Riviera Resort is a little different.
Topolino's is a character breakfast experience in the morning and the afternoon and evening is a
Fine/Signature Dining location. Possibly because of the Fine/Signature Dining category, the breakfast is not served family-style but they do have a great selection of some delicious offerings.
At the locations that do serve family-style meals, you will get family-style starters and entrees as well. There are options for allergy-friendly meal options as well, so if this is an issue you can talk to your server before ordering.
I hope this information is helpful as it sounds like you will be eating some really great food for your upcoming trip! If you have any further questions let us know, we love talking about all things Disney!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
