Do kids get in for free on their bday?

    Welcome to planDisney, Loma!

There is nothing more magical than celebrating a special occasion at the Walt Disney World Resort! Some of the most pixie-dusted memories I have from visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth were made while commemorating a loved one’s birthday.

Children under the age of 3 do not need theme park admission, but all Guests ages 3 and older must have their own tickets – even on their birthday. A great idea is to give the child theme park tickets as a birthday present. We have already come together in my family to give my teenage sister tickets as a present when she was younger. A couple of months before her birthday we talked to other family members to suggest contributing towards Walt Disney World Resort theme park tickets. She absolutely loved it and everyone was happy because they knew she would really enjoy them – I believe my father was especially happy because it meant he would have one less ticket to pay for!

Loma, I believe the most important thing is to think about ways to make their birthday celebration at the Walt Disney World Resort memorable! Depending on the child’s age, I recommend visiting Magic Kingdom Park for their special day as this theme park has so many wonderful attractions for little ones. Upon arriving at the park, ask a Cast Member for a celebratory birthday button so that everyone can celebrate with them. Stop by the Emporium on Main Street U.S.A. for a unique birthday present, purchase Memory Maker to have access to unlimited downloads of all birthday memories captured by Disney PhotoPass Service, and don’t forget to order a delicious Mickey Mouse Celebration specialty cake if you decide to dine at one of the table-service restaurants in the park. Want to sprinkle extra pixie dust to the child’s birthday celebration? Stay at a Disney Resort hotel! You will be immersed in the magic during your stay and enjoy exclusive benefits like complimentary transportation to and from Orlando International Airport with Disney’s Magical Express. Some of my favorite Disney Resort hotels for kids are Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

Thank you for sending a question to planDisney, Loma! I hope this helps you while planning and that you have a magical birthday celebration!
