Welcome to planDisney, Devin! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. It sounds like you've got a little Mouseketeer tagging along on your magical adventure. How fun! Planning around little ones, especially when it comes to food, can bring up lots of good questions, so I'm happy to clarify how it all works with the
Disney Dining Plan and kids under 3.
So, here's the deal: children under 3 don't have their own dining plan, and they do not receive their own meals for free. Instead, it's expected that they share food from an adult's plate at both
Quick-Service and
Table-Service restaurants. So, if you're dining at a standard restaurant and you'd like your little one to have their own meal, you are more than welcome to order something for them, but just keep in mind that it will be charged separately, since they're not on the dining plan.
If you're eating at a
buffet or family-style meal,
everyone over the age of three will need to use a Table-Service meal from the dining plan, but your under-3 child is welcome to eat from the buffet or shared platters at no additional charge. It's a great way for toddlers to sample a variety of options without needing to purchase a separate meal!
As for drinks, water is always free, but if you'd like or order milk, juice, or another beverage specifically for your child, that will be an additional charge. So, while little ones under 3 can absolutely enjoy meals with the family, they aren't given their own entree or drink as part of a free offering. It's all about sharing with the grown-ups!
I hope this answers your question, Devin, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
