I have 4 kids, ages 7, 6, 4, and 2 and am planning our 2nd trip to WDW in May. Stayed at Fort Wilderrness Cabins last time and really enjoyed it. Thinking of stayig at PO RIverside this time. How do they compare? Will I be disappointed?

    Hi Gwendolyn!

Thanks for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

My family and I just spend a week in a Fort Wilderness cabin in August and we absolutely loved it.  My favorite Disney Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside so I think you are making the right comparison!  The good news is both places are great places to stay!

Generally speaking, I only recommend staying in a Fort Wilderness cabin if you have a car or are going to rent a golf cart. Otherwise, it can take a long while to get to anywhere inside or outside of Fort Wilderness.  If you have a car and a golf cart then you are really good to go!

A Fort Wilderness cabin will give you a lot more space than a Port Orleans Riverside room.  When we stay at Port Orleans Riverside, we usually get two connecting rooms.  Then you actually have more space and two bathrooms, but you don't have a kitchen which might be important to you.

Both pools are nice, but Port Orleans Riverside's pool area is better themed and the water slide is nicer in my opinion.  Port Orleans Riverside has a boat service to Downtown Disney which is fun and relaxing, especially at night.  Port Orleans Riverside also has a very nice food court.

There is no easy answer! Good luck with your decision, and please write back with more questions
