Howdy Michael!
Welcome to planDisney. There is nothing I love more than planning our next vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth. There is something for the whole family, whether it’s rides, amazing food, or magical experiences. I’m putting on my Sorcerer Mickey hat to help you with the ultimate Walt Disney World vacation.
Walt Disney World has 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, golf, and Disney Springs. Each theme park offers amazing rides, experiences, characters, dining, and day and nighttime shows. There is no shortage of things that I just know your children will enjoy. You will also find over 20 amazingly themed resorts, all with dining and pools. Depending on the season of the year, you will also find additional things going on, such as festivals at EPCOT or after-hours events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The first step in planning your vacation is to visit the
Walt Disney World website. From the homepage, you can start building your custom vacation package. It will walk you through your resort and ticket options, as well as add-ons like Memory Maker, which lets you get photos taken while you visit.
Once you’ve booked your vacation, there are a few dates to remember. First, you can book your advanced dining reservations 60 days before arrival. Be sure to review all your options on the website and book them when your window opens. Next, 7 days before arrival, you can book your Lightning Lane Passes. This service lets you reduce wait times in line so you can enjoy more experiences throughout the day. I would also consider Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which would give you the ultimate freedom in planning your days by allowing you to ride and do experiences at your convenience.
If you would like the experience of sailing the high seas combined with the magic of Disney, then I would highly recommend a
Disney Cruise. Our family went on our first cruise a few months ago and had a fantastic time. You can spend your time relaxing or joining one of the many family-friendly experiences available throughout the day. We really loved the Disney-themed trivia. The nightly entertainment in the Walt Disney Theater is incredible. Multiple dining options are available daily, along with themed sit-down dining nightly. Oh, did I mention unlimited ice cream all day long? Depending on when and where you sail from, I would absolutely recommend one of the two Disney islands as a stop. Both Castaway Cay and Lookout Point at Lighthouse Cay are absolutely amazing. If you decide to sail, then you can always visit my friends
Rana or
Catherine to answer all of your cruise line questions.
Alrighty, now let's get to the ultimate plan. You can combine both vacations into one. Many people like to book a Disney Cruise Line sailing along with a visit to Walt Disney World. For example, we spent our first three days at Walt Disney World and then went on a 4-day cruise. You can add transportation from your Disney resort directly to the port when you book. Now you get the best of both worlds!
Michael, I hope this helps you and your family plan the most magical vacation ever. If you have any further questions, please stop back by here at planDisney, and we’ll be happy to help.
See ya real soon,
Robert
