Hiya, Beverly! Welcome to
planDisney. I bet you can't wait to take those first steps on Main Street, U.S.A. this summer!
The good news is that when you first scan into the parks, everyone in your party will be handed a hard ticket with a barcode (and a cute character!). This ticket can be used for the day whenever they enter and exit the parks whether or not they are with you!
If you have added
Genie+ to your tickets, they will need access to a smartphone to be able to make and redeem
Lightning Lane selections on their own. My Disneyland panelist bud
Carrie has teenagers and recommends that you have your kids download the
Disneyland Mobile App to their phones and give them access to your account by logging in with your information. This allows the flexibility for the whole family to make Lightning Lane selections together or separately. It also lets them place
Mobile Orders for meals and treats, charging the card on file with your account.
My tip for travel in June is to bring some layers! This may come as a surprise but Southern California can experience a "June Gloom" which means some overcast (and sometimes chilly!) mornings and evenings! And you'll definitely want to be in the parks come nightfall. You will be visiting while the nighttime speculators are in full swing! Disney California Adventure Park will see the return of
World of Color and its sweeping music and storytelling through the water at Paradise Gardens Park. Disneyland Park will have the trifecta of spectaculars from
Fantasmic! to
Disneyland Forever fireworks to the
Main Street Electrical Parade! If you are going for multiple days, definitely make a point to take in Fantasmic! one evening and the fireworks and parade on another evening rather than trying to smush it all into one! Oh-so much magic awaits!
Beverly, you know where to find us if you have any more questions in your planning. We love to help fellow Guests find their way to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Keep wishing on those stars,
Tara
