Are kids able to take pictures with characters and are the fireworks back at the magic kingdom?

    Hi there, Jenny!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

Boy, oh boy, I love to get a big hug from Mickey Mouse! I treasure all of the memories we've made meeting favorite Disney Characters on our Disney family vacations. At this time, during Walt Disney World's phased reopening, Character appearances have been modified to meet current health and safety guidelines. While Disney Characters aren't currently greeting Guests or signing autographs, you will still have the opportunity to see all of your favorite Disney friends when you visit the theme parks!

It's easy to spot Disney Pals throughout the day in the theme parks, as they make appearances in motorcades (Disney's Hollywood Studios), flotillas (Disney's Animal Kingdom Park), and cavalcades (Magic Kingdom Park).  From time to time, Characters will appear on balconies or in roped-off areas throughout the parks to wave and interact with Guests. Every time I visit, I feel like I see more and more Disney Friends! You'll also be able to see Disney Characters at select dining experiences at Chef Mickey's, Topolino's Terrace, Garden Grill Restaurant, and Hollywood & Vine

Guests of Disney Resorts Collection hotels might get a magical surprise when a Character Caravan arrives at their resort. We were recently at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa when a brightly-colored van arrived in front of the hotel. Soon after, Pluto and Goofy entered the lobby for physically-distanced photo ops with Guests and some fun interaction. They were too cute!

I'm thrilled to tell you that fireworks are back, and Guests are able to enjoy them every evening at Magic Kingdom Park! Guests have one last chance to catch the Happily Ever After Nighttime Spectacular through September 29. An all-new nighttime show, Disney Enchantment, begins October 1 as part of The World's Most Magical Celebration to commemorate Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary.

I hope this helps with your planning! Please come back and ask us any other questions you think of as you plan your next magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
