Hiya, Jamie! Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for bringing us your culinary query!
A kid-free trip to Walt Disney World can be a magical experience. I’m also planning a spring getaway without the kiddos, and like you, my mind has recently turned to food. If I’m being honest, food is never far from my mind when I’m in vacation planning mode. To quote a great chef, “If you are what you eat, then I only want to eat the good stuff.”
If you find yourself near the EPCOT and Hollywood Studios resort areas, I’d recommend
Trattoria al Forno at the BoardWalk Inn. The restaurant is not currently offering its popular character dining breakfast, and depending on your preferences, that might make this a better fit for your adults-only excursion. The open kitchen adds great energy to the dining room and the food is excellent. Normally I would recommend the Breakfast Calzone, but it appears they’ve substituted it with the Sunrise Breakfast Pizza. It looks to have similar ingredients, so it still gets my seal of approval!
If you’re closer to the Magic Kingdom then I’d recommend
‘Ohana or
Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Village Resort. Both offer great food—like the Tonga Toast at Kona or Pineapple-Coconut Breakfast Bread at ‘Ohana—but I’d suggest stopping here for the views. What better way to end your trip than taking a walk along the resort beach and seeing Cinderella’s Castle across the Seven Seas Lagoon one more time? It’s especially magical in the early morning when there’s fog over the lagoon and the castle spires are just visible through the mist. It gives me goosebumps every time!
My last two suggestions are for restaurants I haven’t personally dined at, but they come highly recommended by people with very discerning tastes (my friends). I have heard nothing but rave reviews for
Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary Resort, and Walt’s Prime Rib Hash does sound particularly good. There’s also
Topolino’s Terrace at the Riviera Resort if you are interested in character dining. It’s a very popular breakfast option, so reservations are a must.
Which reminds me, don’t forget to book your dining reservations 60 days before your first day at Walt Disney World! That would be March 31, 2025, based on what you’ve shared.
Jamie, I’ve given you a lot of information to digest, but once you chew things over I’m sure you’ll make a delicious decision! Come back to planDisney if you have any other questions for your kid-free trip.
Bon appetit!
Matt
