Hi Stephanie! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with such a great question. I’ve met some tiny Mouseketeers who may be under 3, but they can definitely throw down like they’re training for a runDisney race, so I totally get where you’re coming from!
When it comes to the
Disney Dining Plan at Walt Disney World, Guests under the age of 3 aren’t able to be added to the plan. Little ones in that age group are considered Guests of Mickey and can share from an adult’s plate at no additional charge. That said, if your kiddos are more “full entrée, please” than “just a bite,” you’re absolutely welcome to purchase food for them separately.
Here’s a little extra magic that families with hungry toddlers love: at
buffet and family-style Table-Service restaurants, children under 3 are welcome to eat to their heart’s content at no additional charge. That means your little ones can happily load up their plates without you needing to add a dining plan or pay extra. It’s a total win and one of those underrated Disney perks!
Another thing to consider is that at
Quick-Service locations, kids meals are available to purchase individually, even if your kiddos aren't on the dining plan. These are often just the right size, come with sides and a drink, and are perfect for fueling up between rides, parades, and character sightings. Kids meals are budget-friendly, too! And of course, snacks are always a solid backup plan. Mickey pretzels have been known to save the day more than once.
Stephanie, I hope this helps you plan a dining strategy that keeps everyone happy, full, and meltdown-free.
With two under-3 kiddos, you’re already navigating Walt Disney World like a pro. If more questions pop up as you plan, we’re always here to help sprinkle in a little extra magic!
See ya real soon,
