Greetings, Colleen and welcome to
planDisney!
Colleen, thank you for consulting
planDisney with your important question. I happen to be one of the many panelists who have first-hand experience using
Disney's Disability Access Service (DAS) as a primary caregiver for my special needs son. It is a very helpful accommodation which allows me to take care of my son's needs in a more comfortable area of my choice while we wait for his DAS Return Time arrival window and I hope you find the accommodation helpful as well.
At this time, the manner of visiting the Disneyland Resort theme parks is with a
Disneyland Resort - Theme Park Reservation using valid theme park admission. Therefore you will need to complete this requirement and purchase your theme park tickets in advance.
Colleen, you can
pre-register for the DAS one of two ways, from 2 to 30 days prior to your arrival with the
DAS Advance virtual chat online with a Cast Member or in-person
inside a Disneyland Resort theme park at Guest Relations, which is why you will need to purchase your
Disneyland Resort theme park tickets and make a
Theme Park Reservation ahead of time.
To prepare for your pre-registration either in advance of your arrival with the DAS Advance, or in-person at
Guest Relations inside a Disneyland Resort theme park please link the tickets for those in your travel party to your Disney account so that they may be included on the DAS Guestlist. As well, the Guest who will need the DAS (your child), will have to be present for the pre-registration either online for the
DAS Advance or in-person at
Guest Relations inside a Disneyland Resort theme park.
Once registered for the DAS, the accommodation will appear on your
Disneyland Mobile App and you will be able to select an attraction DAS Return Time from the self-selection flow on the app, or you can request a DAS Return Time at an attraction entrance, at
Guest Relations inside a theme park, or at a
Guest Experience Team Kiosk located through the theme parks. Please remember that the registered DAS Guest or anyone on the DAS Guestlist may request a DAS Return Time, but the
registered DAS Guest must be present when redeeming the DAS Return Time.
Colleen, for any further questions I invite you to reach out to
Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or send an email to disability.services@disneyland.com.
Tips:As soon as you enter a theme park, using the
Disneyland Mobile App you will be able to purchase the
Disney Genie+ service to save time waiting in lines for attractions that offer the Lightning Lane entrance and use this service along with the DAS to streamline your theme park touring. When you purchase the Disney Genie+ service you will enjoy unlimited digital downloads of
Disney PhotoPass® Service attraction photos including
Magic Shots from your day.
Colleen, I hope this information is helpful and I wish you a wonderful time at Disneyland Resort!
