Key to the World Card - is it free? Do I have to order it before arrival? How do my park tickets and credit card for purchases get added to the card? Is it the size of a credit card?

    Hello, Kristina, welcome to planDisney!

I’m so happy you’re here because as a fellow Canadian Disney fan, I have some great advice for you in preparation for your trip so you can focus on your planning to The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Kristina, your Key to the World Card which is one way to access the Disney magic during your visit will be presented to you as part of your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation Package or stand-alone Disney Resorts Collection Guest Room booking at check-in upon your arrival at the Front Desk. The Cast Member will help you with the set-up of your Key to the World Cards at check-in. You will need to present a valid credit card to the Cast Member at check-in which they can add to your Guest Room folio. The cards are the size of credit cards and are complimentary.

To facilitate your visit, I recommend associating or linking your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation Package, or Disney Resort Hotel reservation, and separate theme park tickets to your Disney account by accessing My Plans- Dining, Resort Hotel and Tickets beneath the My Disney Experience planning tab on the main page once you are signed into your Disney account. By linking all these important plans and purchases to your Disney account, you will also be able to make your Disney Park Pass – Theme Park Reservations for each day of valid theme park admission in advance of your arrival. Theme Park Reservations are a crucial step towards your planning so that you can enjoy the theme parks during your visit. This is currently the method of visiting the theme parks, Kristina.

While you are in your Disney account, feel free to update your information, including your method of payment which can be used towards holding your Disney Dining Reservations, which you can make 60-days before your arrival, plus up to 10 nights since you're a Guest at a Disney Resort Hotel. By updating your information you will receive eligible special offers, and hear all about Disney-related news.

While you can enjoy using your Key to the World Cards, you have other options to access the Disney magic and your entitlements during your visit. One way is to pre-purchase and customize a MagicBand or MagicBand+ device via My Plans – Dining, Resort Hotel and Tickets beneath the My Disney Experience planning tab once signed into your Disney account. Your MagicBand or MagicBand+ device(s) will be presented to you at the Front Desk upon check-in at your Disney Resort Hotel. Or, if you wish, you can create a Disney MagicMobile pass which enables you to access your theme park admission from your digital wallet on your mobile device.

Kristina, I hope this information is helpful to you, please stop by for any other planning. There are a few more things I would like to chat about to help make this vacation the very best it can be – I look forward to helping you again soon!

Best Disney Wishes and See Ya Real Soon!
