hi, will there be a kettle in my little mermaid room?

    Welcome to planDisney, Julie!

As Mrs. Potts once said, “I have found that most troubles seem less troubling after a bracing cup of tea.” I think most of us Brits would heartily agree!

Unfortunately, the Standard Rooms at Disney's Art of Animation Resort do not have a kettle, Julie. Instead, they have a Cuisineart Single-Serve machine, along with a healthy supply of coffee and tea. This machine can produce hot water to make a cup of tea. However, as a fellow Brit who loves a "cuppa," I must mention that the water isn't quite boiling. Therefore, it doesn't brew the tea as well as using a kettle. For some reason, kettles aren't as common in America as in the UK. I even have some friends over here who heat up their water in the microwave when they're making a cup of tea! THE MICROWAVE!!! Absolutely preposterous!!! They’re mad, bonkers, completely off their head.

So you'll be able to enjoy a cup of tea in your room, Julie. It probably just won't be up to the same standard as back home. If you would like to enjoy some tea when you're out and about, you can always stop by one of the Joffrey's Coffee & Tea Company locations in the theme parks or at Disney Springs.

I hope that's helpful, Julie. See ya real soon!
