I keep seeing posts about buttons and trading cards... what’s that about? What else should I know and are there any other collectibles or recommended souvenirs to plan on buying? Thanks!

Hello, Morgan, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! While souvenir shopping during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation can be a little overwhelming, finding those fun, complimentary mementos is a thrill!

You'll find a varied selection of complimentary buttons at Guest Relations in any of the Theme Parks or Water Parks. Whether you want an "I'm Celebrating," "Happy Birthday," or "1st Visit" button, just let the Cast Member on duty know who in your party is experiencing a special occasion.

Another option is to begin collecting trading cards (including transportation, safety and Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom cards). The 34 transportation cards contain information about Walt Disney World Resort's buses, monorails, trams, boats and even Minnie Vans! To start your collection, just ask your driver, captain or transportation Cast Member if they have any cards.

Timon and Pumbaa's Wild About Safety Cards (offering tips like "Wash Your Paws Often" and "Another Bus Will Come, No Need to Run") are also fun to collect. Just ask a Cast Member if they have any of these, too.

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom trading cards are available at the Firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A. When you initially sign up to play, a Cast Member will explain the game, set up you up, and give you a complimentary pack of cards.  You can even get a new, complimentary pack of cards each day you're at Magic Kingdom Park!

To purchase souvenirs, we like to get new Disney Pins for each of our visits, and we also make sure to purchase an ornament (or keychain to turn into an ornament). Each of our ornaments and ornament-keychains is attached to a special memory from its trip, and we love discussing them as we put each on our Christmas tree.

Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Morgan--and Happy Collecting!
