I keep seeing mixed answers about Frozen night on the Disney Wonder. Are adults allowed to wear full length Anna and Elsa costumes that night? What time can they start wearing them? Thank you!

    Ahoy there, Yvette!

Welcome aboard planDisney! I’m so excited you sailed our way with this question because any day that includes Anna, Elsa, and the Disney Wonder is bound to be a flurry of fun! I can tell you’re planning ahead to make the most of your Frozen-themed adventure, and I say—let it go, let it go… and bring those costumes along!

When it comes to dressing up as your favorite characters, Disney Cruise Line truly knows how to let the magic flow. Costumes are absolutely welcome for Guests of all ages during special events and themed celebrations—including the beloved Frozen Deck Party onboard the Wonder. Whether you’re channeling Anna’s regal style or Elsa’s icy elegance, you’re welcome to rock that royal look all day long on the scheduled Frozen celebration day.

Now, let’s talk guidelines—because even in Arendelle, there are a few rules to follow. Adults are encouraged to join in the fun, but there are some important limitations when it comes to full character costumes:

    • Your costume should be family-friendly and in good taste.
    • Face coverings or masks that fully cover your face can only be worn when stationary (like at photo ops) and must be removed while walking around the ship.
    • Guests may not pose for photos with other Guests or sign autographs while in costume—so leave the Queenly autographs to the professionals.
Props that resemble weapons (even if they look like Kristoff’s ice pick or Hans’ sword) are a no-go onboard.

In terms of timing, there’s no official schedule for when adults can start donning their Frozen finery, but from my experience sailing with Disney, most Guests start to slip into their themed attire by mid-afternoon. It gives you plenty of time for a pre-dinner photo or a twirl through the Atrium before the evening’s icy festivities begin! The Frozen Deck Party usually takes place in the evening on the upper decks and includes singing, dancing, and even some snowy surprises. So be sure to bring your warmest royal ensemble—or at least a shawl for the chilly breeze!

I hope this helps you feel confident about getting into the Frozen spirit while onboard! Some of my family’s favorite cruise photos come from nights like these when we all go “all out” with our outfits. It’s those little extra touches—like a themed outfit or special accessory—that help turn a Disney cruise into a truly unforgettable fairytale at sea.

Sea ya real soon with a July full of fireworks at sea and memories that sparkle like pixie dust,
