    I keep reading about a "Desert Party" is that some sort of separate event at Magic Kingdom?

    Hi Christine!

    The Tomorrowland Fireworks Dessert Party is a delicious party that is held during Wishes Nighttime Spectacular, the nightly fireworks show.  Entry into this party gives you a prime viewing spot for this awesome fireworks show AND entitles you to an array of yummy desserts!  You do need a ticket for regular park admission to take advantage of this party and advance reservations.  It is currently $23.99 for adults and $12.99 for children ages 3-9.
