I keep hearing people saying to take advantage of the extra magic hours, but those days are the least recommended on the crowd calendars and most crowded. Is it really worth it to get an extra hour if the park is most crowded that day? It seems the other p

    Hi, Kelly!

Should you use Extra Magic Hours?  Yes!  Well, maybe!

MORNING Extra Magic Hours only work if you actually get to the parks to enjoy this magical hour.  Too often, guests have every intention of waking up early, but arrive late in the morning.  If you can't make the early entry, then I would plan on a different park that does not have that Extra Magic Hour planned. Plan to get there a few minutes before opening, enjoy the small crowds, then head back to your resort for a relaxing afternoon.   If you have park hopper tickets, you can enjoy a different park later in the day.

EVENING Extra Magic Hours only work if you have the stamina to stay up late (sometimes way past midnight!) The crowds will thin out, but you might be too tired to stay up!

So, what to do?  If you can commit to early mornings and late nights, go for it!  But if you think you will sleep right through that alarm, or that you will be ready for your cozy bed by sunset, you might want to plan on non-Extra Magic Hours parks.

Wishing you lots of EXTRA hours of magic!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
