Kaylene, I saw that you have done grand gatherings before. Do you know how much of a discount is given when more than 10 rooms are booked. And are we able to get specials like free dining when booking this way? Thanks for your help! The panel is so helpful

    Hi Magan,

Thank you for your question. I apologize for the delay in answering. I'm actually at Walt Disney World right now with my family as I'm answering your question.

Grand Gatherings are so much fun! There isn't a set percentage discount on group rooms. Some Disney resorts generally don't offer a group rate at all (like Pop Century) and others offer a pretty significant one. You'll want to contact Group Sales directly to ask them about your options. Several factors affect the price including time of year, number of rooms, specific resort, etc. Keep in mind that when you sign a contract for the rooms, if you drop below the 10 rooms, they will still hold you to the minimum rooms and you'll have to pay for them whether you fill them or not. So, be sure you have at least 10 rooms traveling. We get group rates when we get together each fall for the Moms Panel Reunion weekend and we have gotten some fantastic prices through Group Sales, you'll just need to be flexible on which resorts you want to get the best rates.

If you do book group rates, you will not be eligible for Free Dining if it is offered during your travel dates. Disney does not allow multiple discounts on a room. You can, however, add the Dining Plan at regular price. Since "Free Dining" is offered with a full priced room, you will want to do the math to see which ends up saving you more money: a group rate or paying full price and getting dining free.

Hope this helps and that you have a wonderful vacation. Please let me know if I can assist you further,
