Hi Kaylene! Hope you are recovering from the storm! I am headed to Disney with our 7 & 2 year old for a 5 day trip. We want a relaxing pace so we just doing 2 parks. Mk is a must and I am trying to decide between Ak & HS. Any recommendations?

    Hi Tabitha,

Thanks so much for thinking of me! We went 38 hours without power during this blizzard and it sure made me miss sunny Florida!

I know many people would probably disagree with me, but I'm basing my answer strictly on my experiences with my family. My husband and I consider Animal Kingdom to be incredibly relaxing. The entire atmosphere is good for the soul. When our kids were 7 and 2, there was no place they would rather be. In fact, they all still feel that way today. We spend hours enjoying the Maharajah Jungle Trek and the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. You can walk those at your own pace and simply stop and watch the animals. Animal Kingdom has so many special little spots to stop and enjoy. Your kids can just wander and explore at their own pace and not be forced to sit still and be quiet for a show like they would at Hollywood Studios. Be sure to head to the Kilimanjaro Safari first thing in the morning because the animals are most active then. I highly recommend that you book Donald's Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House. You'll see Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy all decked out in their safari gear. The food is delicous too.

While my older kids really enjoy Hollywood Studios, I'll never forget when our youngest was 4. We had spent the day there and I asked her late in the afternoon if she had fun. She said, "no, I don't like food." I realized then that all she had been able to do that day was eat. She was too small for practically every attraction and she didn't love sitting still for the shows either. Hollywood Studios has a lot of rides that are great for "big kids". They also have a lot of shows that adults and older kids enjoy. Little ones have a really tough time sitting still for the shows. Granted, there is the Disney Junior - Live on Stage Show and Toy Story Mania, but otherwise there isn't a whole lot for little ones.

I hope this helps and that you have a wonderful vacation,
