Hi Kay!I asked about a trip to disney with my bf& his 2 friends 21(b),20(g) but my bf and i are buying annual passes(good idea?) and we are actually only going to the park this time for 3 days and universal for 2. Does it still benefit to stay disney?

Hi Michelle good to hear from you with further questions about your trip.

First let me talk about the Annual Pass versus purchasing park tickets. An out of state Annual Pass right now costs about $552.74 which is a park hopper type ticket and would equal to you buying about five days of Park Hopper tickets or seven days of one park tickets. It gets a bit more complicated if you are a Florida resident as the discounts are even greater and you can see them by going to the disney website. If you are trying to keep your trip in a tight budget it would be best to purchase the amount of tickets you will need for your stay versus the Annual Pass. If you know that you will be returning several more times then the Annual Pass is great if you can spend that money at one time. I LOVE my Annual Pass as I get to Florida about 4-5 times a year!

Although I am not a Universal girl I realize many guests wish to trek over to the other side! I still consider staying on Disney property is a good idea as there are so many incredible dining options as well as recreation options that are available to you right on property.  You can park your car and get to anywhere you need to go free of charge and enjoy your evenings back "home" at your resort. There are many options for outside lodging but the stories I sometimes hear makes me know I am always glad to be at a Disney resort.  The old saying of "sometimes you get what you pay for" is very true in a tourist community!

Look at everything that Disney offers such as Downtown Disney, Jellyrolls, restaurants and recreation that are all outside the parks and see if anything will appeal to you. If you can answer yes then I would most definitely stay on property and take advantage of the Disney magic.
