Hi Kay - You've been nice enough to answer my question before. I'm wondering if you can help me again: on the nights of special events @MK (MVMCP, etc.), do they still do fireworks/nighttime parades before they close the park for the regular guests? Thanks

Hi Elizabeth!  When the Magic Kingdom closes for their special event parties such as Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, they will not have the fireworks or nighttime parades for the day guests.  The parties all begin at 7:00pm with the special parade and fireworks coming later that night.

If you are not choosing to stay and purchase the event ticket you can still enjoy the fireworks from several other locations at neighboring resorts.  You can sit on the beaches of the Polynesian resort for the best views but there are also spots at the Grand Floridian for viewing the show.  The Contemporary resort has large windows where you can see much of the show at one end and for a real treat head out to Fort Wilderness and sit on the beach. You won't see the castle at this location but they do pipe in the sound track and it is just one way to catch most of the fireworks.

The parade is not visible unless you are indeed in the park.  As a day guest you would see the afternoon parade as scheduled.

If you choose to purchase the event ticket you can make early dining reservations in the park and be ready to party at the 7:00pm opening as you can enter with your ticket as early as 4:00pm.
