Hi Kay thanks for ur response. I have called several times and dec 8th is completely booked :( what about a wagon ride do they still run during that time? Can I book that in advance? Walking is def doable thanks for the advice!

Oh Stephanie, I am so sorry that the date you wanted was booked already. I think the holiday sleigh rides have become even more popular since they did away with the Haunted Carriage rides in Fort Wilderness.

The sleigh rides themselves are expensive and only last about 25 minutes where the wagon rides are about 45 minutes long. This would truly be your best bet to see more of the loops and it is less expensive. It is offered on a first come basis though and the line for this is directly across from Pioneer Hall entrance to Hoop Dee Doo. There will be a sign indicating the waiting area.

Personally I would head over there thinking you will be doing some walking just in case the wagon is not brought out for that evening. We have been staying in Fort Wilderness during many months and we see the wagon drive past us in our loop often but as with everything Disney things change and since you don't make advance reservations they can cancel at any time.  The walk is really quite enjoyable and will allow you to linger and visit with camp site guests as much as you wish. There are sidewalks along the roads but it would be good to bring a flashlight while walking through the loops. At least try to wear light clothing so the golf carts will see you as you are walking.

I will keep my fingers crossed that December 8 will be a gorgeous evening with cool temperatures and clear skies.  And don't forget if you have the time you can stop by and toast a marshmallow or two at Chip and Dales Campfire Singalong. That usually begins at 8pm nightly with the fires being started at 7:30pm. The show lasts 30 minutes followed by a movie. You can truly have a fun filled Fort Wilderness night!
