Kay, The reason I'm considering FW Cabins is because my daughter is HF autistic (24th BDay trip); it would help for her to be able to close a door for privacy in the room. Does the forest cut down the noise from fireworks? I'm thinking the 2800 loop. --{-@

Hi Rochelle! I often recommend the Fort Wilderness cabins for their quiet atmosphere and privacy when comparing to some of the other Disney resorts. Each cabin is individually situated on a site in a loop so you will never share a common wall with another one. You have the separate bedroom with a door closing it off to the bathroom and the rest of the cabin living area and kitchen. This bedroom has a separate entrance but we never found we used it and kept it locked the entire time.

In general the cabins are very quiet and Loop 2800 is off the beaten path of the traffic from the main road which is never much anyway. I will say that occasionally you might hear the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom but that is always dependent on the wind direction for that evening. Even if you do hear them it is not loud and with a cabin closed up it would be barely noticeable. The woods and trees in the loops do help cut back on the noise as well.

The 2800 Loop is the closest to the front of the resort and therefore the main bus area. You can easily walk to this but would suggest you take the internal buses to reach Pioneer Hall and the marina if you do not have a golf cart rental.

I think you will enjoy the cabins. They have a complete kitchen and living area with a pull down bed that is comfortable. Only one bath but it is large and complete with all you need. There are two tv's and one has a DVD player so bring some of your favorite Disney movies to watch when you are not in the parks. Since this is a birthday celebration consider having the Disney florist deliver a surprise or decorate the cabin while you are out one day for your daughter.  If you need groceries delivered I suggest heading to the internet and checking out the site. We use them and are very pleased! Let me know if you have any other great Fort Wilderness questions I can help you with!
