Hi Kay! I read you don't use the dining plan. Do you find it hard to get into restaurants without? Or do you prefer CS eats? We are debating...prefer the spontaneity of not having res every nite but want some TS meals.

Hi Lane!  No our family does not use the Dining Plans as we enjoy not having to worry about whether we need a credit or two credits or whatever when we select our restaurants.  If I feel like popcorn I will buy some but I certainly don't need a snack every day nor do I need to think about getting one.....I have eaten way too many in my life and it shows!

But we DO make advanced dining reservations.  Anyone can do that and you don't need to be on a Disney Dining Plan.  I am always aware of my dining window reservation date and prepared to call for the spots our family is wishing to try.  We often have one meal a day at a reservation table service spot and the rest of the day's meals are at counter service locations.  One of our favorite places to go on each trip is the counter service FlameTree Barbecue in the Animal Kingdom park. My husband craves that and a trip is not complete unless he has had his barbecue fill!

I make a daily dining reservation during the vacation to coordinate with our park plans for the day.  The rest of our meals are spontaneous and without pressure to eat, eat, eat!!!!
