Hi Kay! I love reading your Fort Wilderness answers! We're looking at staying in one of the cabins. Any recommendations on location? Are we allowed to request specific locations? Thanks so much for all your help!

Hello Joanne from beautiful Ontario! My husband and I hope to get north to visit your country soon! Right now our trips are taking us to another great spot, Walt Disney World!

We love the hidden gem of Fort Wilderness. We have stayed many times in the cabins and that is actually my children's first choice when they come back for visits. It is hard to request a specific cabin so your next best thing is to choose a loop.  Our favorite is the 2100 loop and you can put that request on your reservation. It is one of the smallest loops and it backs up to the RV loop 1100. You can easily cut through this loop to walk to the Trading Post and none of the cabins are too far from the bus stop located across the road. I especially like this loop as it is close to the comfort station for loop 1100 so you have easy access to washers and dryers during your stay. The other cabin loops will not have this option.  It won't matter whether you get a cabin that is on the outside of the loop or the inside as both will be relatively quiet.

My next favorite loops are the inside cabins of the 2200 or any in the 2400. The 2200 can be a bit noisy from the four way stop sign if you have a cabin near there. The 2400 loop is large so a bit of a walk to a bus stop but still a nice area.

Sometimes if you are assigned a different loop when you check in they can make that change if you ask and if there is availability.

I hope you enjoy Fort Wilderness as much as we do. We walk every morning to watch the deer and the turkeys and the armadillos! Then we head to the busy parks to watch the people!
