Hi Kay, You answered a ? about RV camping and bringing your dogs to WDW. What did you do with the dogs while at the parks? We have been at resorts many times but would like to RV camp and maybe bring our furry pal. Any places to walk pets? Thx

Well, Linda, I have to admit the reason we purchased the big motor coach was so we could come and spend a few weeks at a time and bring our furry pooches!  Fort Wilderness is an awesome place and the only place you can do this unless it is a service dog.

When you make your reservation make sure you tell them you will be bringing a pet as they will assign you to a pet loop. There is an additional extra cost nightly but it is minimal and worth the joy of having your friend along during vacation.  There are several pet walking areas as well as a lovely fenced large pet running park.  You will find numerous pet bag dispensers and you are asked to please clean up after your pet which is never an issue.  The guests are all wonderful and everyone loves to meet and greet the four legged ones that come along.  During my last visit I met a wonderful couple who bring their two Great Danes!  We bring two English Bulldogs.

I loved walking early in the morning (all dogs must be leashed unless running in dog park) and often would see up close and personal deer and armadillos.  I loved sitting and watching with the dogs as these fabulous wild animals went about their way.

During the times we were at the parks we kept the dogs in the motor coach.  Because you are hooked up with electricity the dogs can stay cool or warm depending on the temperatures of the time of year. We crated one dog during our away times since he is a puppy but the other did fine with free rein of the RV.

Hope this helps and hope we see you sometime soon "camping" at Fort Wilderness!
