Hi Kari, Staying in BLT lake view studio w/12 yr DS in July. Any specific room location/floor/section that you recommend I request? Also Top of the World lounge - minimum age or can he go? Thanks in advance.

Howdy Kaylene!  You and your son will love every minute of your time at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort!  Having the luxury of walking to Magic Kingdom from your resort is wonderful!!

When booked at Bay Lake, we request a villa on the 5th floor because this is the floor where you will find the walkway to Disney's Contemporary Resort.  Being on the 5th floor saves you time as you don't have to wait for the elevators to get over to the Contemporary, monorail, etc.

We have loved each and every lake view villa we have stayed in so I don't have a specific section to suggest.

Top of the World Lounge is wonderful and one of my favorite places to view the Magic Kingdom fireworks.  Your son is more than welcome.  We have been there many times with our little ones (currently 4 and 6).  We typically visit fairly early in the evening before it gets busy.  It's a relaxing way to wind down from a busy day in the parks.  The menu changes but in the past we have enjoyed the flat bread and pretzels (along with adult and kid-friendly beverages).  Like you will find all over Walt Disney World Resort, the Cast Members go out of their way to make the younger Guests feel like royal Guests.

I am including some "fine print" information about Top of the World Lounge just to make sure you have all of the information you need.  Top of the World Lounge is open exclusively to Disney Vacation Club Members (and their guests) staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with vacation points or cash).  Blockout dates in 2013 are July 3 and 4, and December 30 and 31). Current operating hours are 6 p.m. to midnight.

I hope this helps you in your planning.  Enjoy your vacation with your son. I know it will be a magical vacation and you will make memories that will last a lifetime!
