    Hi Kari! Have you ever traded your DVC points for a stay through RCI? How does this process work and, if we wish to trade out to stay at a property in Hawaii after an Aulani stay, are there any Hawaiian resorts you would recommend?

    Howdy Jill!!  I'm so excited about your question!!  Hawaii...Aulani...fabulous!  I am going to live vicariously though you on your upcoming vacation!  So excited for you!!  We haven't made it to Aulani as of yet but it is on the list to visit soon!

    I have not used RCI but we used the exchange DVC had in place in 2000 to visit Maui and it was a similar transaction to the current program.  In November of 2012, DVC made RCI reservations available online.  From the Member Services website, click on the RCI link and you will have the opportunity to see the resorts that are part of the RCI exchange.  Once you book, Member Services will deduct the number of points needed for your reservation.  You will pay a non-refundable $95 exchange fee to book or wait-list through RCI.

    I would love to suggest some resorts to you but I need to ask some follow up questions.  How many people will be travelling with you?  What are their ages?  Will you be booking a weekly or nightly exchange once you check out of Aulani?  What island(s) are you planning to visit?

    As I type, I am imagining the smell of the fresh, floral air and the feel of the warm, tranquil water.  Wonderful!  Enjoy!!
