    Hi Karen, I am looking to book a 4 night cruise on the Dream for March with my husband & 2 children but I am concerned about motion sickness. Should I book a room in a certain area of the ship? Also, are there treatments for motion sickness on board?

    Hi Shara,

    I hear you!  Having experienced sea sickness in the past - I can tell you that I will do anything to avoid it.  Personally I have found the mid-ship cabins, on decks 5-6 have been most favorable for me.  I find that the higher the deck, and more forward the cabin the more the motion is felt.

    There are several things that you can do to try to alleviate the sickness once onboard.  First of all, I have always found that by seeking fresh air, and staring at the distant horizon I can decrease ill feelings. There are several over the counter remedies such as patches, pills and wrist bands - and I suggest you talk with your doctor to see what might work best for the members of your family.  With my history of motion sickness, I usually take an over-the-counter meclizine tablet before we set sail. 

    In the event of rough seas, motion sickness tablets will be made available to guests - simply visit guest services or the medical facility for more information.
