Hi Karen -- 1st time on a 4 day Disney cruise w/ dds 9 and 7 at the end of August -- Can't wait!! Looking forward to the deck shows -- where is a good place to see them and how early would we need to get there to get a great spot?

    Hi Sue,

Your voyage is just around the corner - thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your last-minute questions.  The Adventures Away! Sail-Away Celebration and the Pirates IN the Caribbean deck parties are always highlights of our DCL vacations.

Unlike at the theme parks (where guest line up for a parade 90-minutes ahead of time), the deck parties onboard the cruise ships tend to have more fluid crowds.  If you are looking to participate in the dancing and fun, you can simply arrive just before the festivities begin.  We tend to wait until things get going and then join the fun just to the left or right of the stage.  The crowd will continually be moving and shifting so there is no real reason to stake out a spot to join in. The activities on-stage will be shown on the big screen during the event so even those in the back and sides will have a great view of the fun.

If you are looking to be more of an observer, I would suggest finding a spot on Deck 10 during the parties.  This will give you a birds eye view of the fun.  This becomes a popular spot for guest to "stay put", so I would try settle in at least 15-30 minutes prior to the party.

    Have a great time!
