    Hi Karen, thanks so much for answering my question!! Can you also use Disney Dollars or Disney Gift Cards on the cruise ship? My family wants to get these for my daughter for Christmas, but told them to wait until I know. Thank you for your help :)

    Glad to help!  You can use your Disney Gift Cards and Disney Dollars onboard, however only by applying them to your shipboard account (you can't use them directly at the merchandise shops).

    I think that these make a great gift, so I would encourage the family to give them.  Once onboard you and your daughter can visit guest services and she can "apply" her dollars to the shipboard account.  She can then use her Key to the World Card in the shops and on Castaway Cay to make purchases.  Keep in mind that you must allow her charging privileges on her key for this to work (and you'll have to keep track of the math).  You can stop by guest services at any time to see the total that she has charged (because the gift card will not be applied to her card alone, but the entire account - and she could technically charge more than she applied).
