    Hi Karen, staying at AK, taking bus transfer to DCL when we checkin for our cruise at the hotel do they pickup our luggage from our room & put it on the bus or do we carry it with us? Also after the cruise can we do airline/luggage checkin at the pier?

    Welcome to the Moms Panel!  One of the things that I love about combining a Walt Disney World Resort stay with my Disney Cruise Line vacation, is the EASE of making the transfer between the two.

    Your luggage will be handled for you, and once it is picked up from your room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, you won't see it (or have to handle it again) until it arrives in your stateroom on the ship.  Since you won't have access to your bag until later in the day, be sure to keep all valuables, travel documents, medications and anything you might need with you in a carry on bag.  You will be given instructions at the resort as to the time of your luggage pickup and motorcoach transfer to the port.

    For guests that have purchased their airfare and/OR their airport motorcoach transfer through Disney Cruise Line will ability to check in their luggage for their flights and receive their airline boarding passes before they disembark the ship.  This eliminates the hassle of needing to bring your bags off the ship and to the curb!  You will receive your luggage tags and instructions in your stateroom the day prior to disembarkation.  Although most major airlines participate in this service, I recommend calling the cruise line to confirm that your airline is one of them.
