Hi Karen, love your advice. Do you recommend a veranda? We cruised on RC before and had one but you are in your room so little I am undecided. As well I am sure the patio door has safety locks? I would be afraid of my kids opening the door. Thanks

    Hi Linda,

Thank you so much for your nice compliment - I love having the opportunity to share what I've learned over the years.

This is a really great question, and if it's within your budget I would recommend booking a stateroom with verandah.  Although I was nervous at first to have a verandah with small children, I quickly found that it was a wonderful luxury especially when you have little ones that may still nap.  I could sit quietly in the sunshine while  my child slumbered.

Safety was a huge concern of mine, but thankfully there is a security latch on the top of the door.  You can also request that your table and/or chairs be removed from the verandah if that makes you more comfortable.

Now that being said, we have sailed in the ocean view staterooms and loved them!  The portholes in the deluxe ocean view staterooms are HUGE, and offer fantastic views of the horizon.

Good luck with your decision, I hope this helps!
