Hi Karen! I'm looking for an quiet inside cabin on the Dream with the least motion / best location. We are a family of 4 (kids 3 and 5), split bathroom would be nice but not necessary. On the plan, cabins 2033-2035-2533-2555 seem larger. Any advice?

    Hi Caroline,

I can't wait until the Disney Dream sets sail in January 2011 - it will be great to have actual accounts from other guests as to the best staterooms and locations.  I have to imagine, there won't be a "bad" stateroom, however I have my guesses as to the best locations for maximum quiet and minimum motion.

The staterooms you mentioned are indeed a bit bigger, but that is because they are handicapped accessible.  Personally, with a family of four, I would splurge for the split bath that a category 10 will provide.  Ideally you want to be mid-to aft on your deck, and I prefer to be on middle deck.  The higher decks will have more motion, the lower decks could have more engine noise.  This probably wouldn't bother most, it's more like a quiet or "white" noise - but could be bothersome to light sleepers or small children.

Based on this, I would probably try to book a cabin in either the 6675-6683 range or 7677-7687 range.  Keep in mind that there appears to be very few inside cabins in this vicinity, and because of the lower rates and the new virtual portholes the inside cabins feature - they could be difficult to book if you aren't flexible with your dates.

Good luck with your decision - I think I almost went blind pouring over the stateroom maps when trying to choose a stateroom for our first voyage on the Dream!
