Hi Karen -- We are cruising then going to POR after that. I would like to pack a few foods to have on hand at POR before we can shop -- can I do this if the food is store bought and in an opened package? Should it be in my carry on?

    Hi Sue,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Combining a Disney Cruise with a trip to Walt Disney World is the ultimate way to maximize a vacation!

Personally, if it were me - I would save the hassle of bringing anything extra onboard, and ship myself a box directly to Port Orleans Riverside before your leave on your cruise.  Simply pack all of your goodies and label the box something like this:

Guest John Doe - ARRIVAL DATE mm/dd/yyyy
        Disney's Port Orleans Riverside
        1251 Riverside Drive
        Lake Buena Vista, FL, 32830

To make things even easier, you could add anything extra you might need (additional sunscreen and toiletries for example).

If this isn't feasible - no worries.  You will be responsible for carrying all of your luggage through customs, and should have no problems with pre-packaged store bought food.  Federal Law prohibits passengers from bringing fresh fruits, vegetables, plant materials or meats of animal products back into the United States.

    Hope this helps!
